چکیده

Background and Objectives: Epidural anesthesia is a popular technique for providing lower limb surgeries. Dexmedetomidine Clonidine are known to enhance the effect of local anaesthetics. The purpose this study was compare impact dexmedetomidine clonidine on onset duration epidural anaesthesia using bupivacaine. Methods: After IEC approval, prospective, randomized, double blinded conducted 60 ASA I II adult patients undergoing surgeries under anaesthesia. Patients were randomly divided into Group A receiving 0.5% isobaric bupivacaine 15 ml with 1 μg/kg B 2 epidurally. Onset sensory motor blocks, analgesia, sedation, adverse effects assessed. Results: block significantly faster in Gr compared (p< 0.05). more D M. Mean arterial pressures comparable between groups intraoperative period. However, sedation scores better than clonidine. No other event observed. Conclusion: combination (0.5%) hastened block, prolonged when used epidural, without producing any events.

Comparison of ketamine, fentanyl and clonidine as an adjuvant during bupivacaine caudal anaesthesia in paediatric patients.

BACKGROUND Caudal epidural analgesia with bupivacaine is very popular in paediatric anaesthesia for providing intra- and postoperative analgesia. Several adjuvants have been used to prolong the action of bupivacaine. OBJECTIVES To compare the efficacy of ketamine, fentanyl and clonidine in terms of quality and duration of analgesia they produce when added with caudal bupivacaine by single sho...
